Into the Drink

I was supposed to have a few weeks off.  But as I’ve learned in the world of travel television, just because you’re in one place for longer than a lunar cycle doesn’t mean there’s not a ton of stuff to do.  Usually that means gearing up for where I’m headed next.  And so it begins, the preparation for a marathon of in-flight meals and scooting past customs and immigration just so I can put myself in harm’s way in the middle of the ocean and get peer-pressued into a dozen different embarrassing situations.  All for the loyal viewer.

It’s a great life.  I wish you’d come with me.  Every single one of you.

So during the interim I actually found time to see Depeche Mode, take in a Kelly’s Roast Beef or two, go mini-golfing with my son and make a brief return to New England diving after a 2-year absence.  Suffice it to say I stayed busy.

While I’ve been home I’ve been getting hit up with an unusually high volume of requests regarding what music is currently swimming around my brain these days.  I sat down and wrote like I was high on coke, babbling on about the genius of the artists’ whose recent releases have been getting me off, but it ran page after page and unless you all feel like reading the musings of a suffering music critic, I’ll just keep it simple and give you a few playlists to chew on.  So here’s what’s in heavy rotation in Aaron’s world right now:
